We all hate construction and the delays that come with them.

But....it is a TAD better if we can give you a heads up so you can plan to take an alternate route and hopefully avoid some, if not most of the traffic.

So on that note, next week portions of Rio Grande Avenue will be detoured or closed off because construction will resume.

Traffic lanes will be adjusted for traffic but the center median of the George Redding Bridge will be removed and the left lanes of the eastbound and westbound lanes will be closed during the removal process.

In addition, a single lane of traffic will flow from Susquehanna Avenue to Park Avenue.

At the intersection of Rio Grande and Susquehanna Avenues, drivers will be able to make a right hand turn toward Hand Avenue. However, Susquehanna will be closed for northbound traffic at Hand Avenue.

These traffic changes will be in effect 24/7 until the construction is complete.

According to the Cape May County Department of Tourism and Public Information said they are hoping the project is completed by next Summer.
