Ventnor is the latest South Jersey town to announce special Covid-19 guidelines for this Halloween's trick-or-treating, set for 6-8pm on Saturday, Oct 31.

How to celebrate Halloween has been a special struggle this year for local towns trying to balance safety during a lingering pandemic with letting kids, and their parents, enjoy a little fun and normalcy this Halloween.

Ventnor has broken down their Halloween recommendations in two parts; those for candy givers and those for trick-or-treaters.

For trick-or-treaters:they recommend...

Must wear mask in place of or in addition to a decorative costume mask
Limit direct contact with others (hold your bag open to accept candy)
Travel with your household unit or small group
Should not eat items while Trick-or-Treating
Should have a flashlight, reflector, etc. to be seen
Should only go to houses that are clearly participating/giving out candy in their front yard

For homes planning to hand out candy, Ventnor suggests...

Provide treats in front yard area
Wear a mask when dispensing candy
Follow social distancing guidelines
Limit direct contact with participants
