Here’s All The Ways To Donate Your Halloween Candy To Our Troops
Unfortunately, there is such a thing as having TOO much Halloween candy.
But let's be real....there is nothing good that can come out of you eating that entire bag of Halloween candy all on your own.
So to save you from a cavity nightmare....here are a few worthy causes for you to donate that excess Halloween candy to.
Just think....a simple chocolate bar could really brighten up someone else's day -- that is, people who could really use a little extra pick me up: OUR TROOPS!.
Solders' Angels is looking to collect your excess Halloween candy for a great initiative known as Treats For Troops.
There are two purposes of this drive: to avoid your kids from over-indulging in those Halloween sweets and to show our troops some extra love....in chocolate!

Businesses -- one of the most popular to participate are dental offices -- can register to become a candy collection site.
This program has been going on since 2005 and they are continuing on in 2020 by partnering with Move America Forward & Operation Shoebox! (See below for more info about Operation Shoebox)
Local businesses -- traditionally but not limited to dental offices -- offer to be drop off locations for candy donations. Participants will "buy back" Halloween candy with cash (it usually is $1 per pound of candy donated), coupons and other creative exchanges.

This nonprofit has one goal: to meet the needs of every hero with dignity and appreciation. They send out care packages to those who are deployed overseas and one of their favorite bonuses to include is candy! Yes, the chocolate tastes amazing but I am sure an actively deployed soldier's day would be made with one bite.
Just to put it into perspective, this organization sends out nearly 400 care packages every month which costs $14,000!

This Halloween Candy Give-Back Program has been around since 2007 and they are still going strong!
A handful of candy is included in every single care package that this nonprofit sends to our troops and first responders who are working hard far away from home.

RMHC's mission is to, "find and support programs that directly improve the health and well-being of children and their families."
Well I really don't know what would cheer up kids and their families more than having their own mini Halloween celebration of their own.
Call your local chapter and ask for the specific rules on donating unopened candy for the sick kids and their families.
