You may be thinking about summer, but Egg Harbor Township-based Spirit Halloween has its sights set on Halloween, and the haunting season will start sooner than you think.

Spirit Halloween Announces its 2024 Game Plan

When you are the nation's largest Halloween retailer, summer is a ghoulishly busy time.

Spirit Halloween, with headquarters on the Black Horse Pike in Egg Harbor Township, plans to hire 50,000 seasonal sales associates and store managers to work in more than 1,500 retail locations nationwide in 2024.

In an announcement this week, Spirit Halloween said to look for its iconic banners to start appearing on storefronts once again, including at the company's flagship store in the Harbor Square in Egg Harbor Township.

Can you imagine what the real estate aspect of that business entails when you have to do short-term rentals on over 1500 commercial properties across America?

Spirit Halloween Makes Annual Pitch for Seasonal Employees

Another complicated undertaking is finding 50,000 good employees looking for a 3-month job. The Egg Harbor Township Spirit Halloween store will open on  August 1st.

"The excitement and enthusiasm of Halloween continues to grow, and as we gear up for another season, we are looking forward to welcoming new associates and store managers to our team," said Steven Silverstein, CEO of Spirit Halloween in a statement.

"Opening over 1,500 retail locations is no small feat, and much of the magic we create for fans each year is thanks to the passion and dedication of our associates who bring the Spirit Halloween experience to life."

What Spirit Halloween Offers Employees & What's the Job Like

Spirit Halloween doesn't stipulate its wages but says it offers a competitive salary, bonus plan, paid training, advancement opportunities, and 30% off costumes and merchandise.

Right now on the work4spirit.com website, there are over 13,000 job listings for manager and assistant manager positions around the country.

The physical demands of the job require 8+ hours of standing/walking, climbing ladders, setting up fixtures and lifting/moving up to 50 pounds. Prior retail management experience is required.

What is it like to work at Spirit Halloween? The Spirit vets I talked with say it's much like any retail job, only louder.

It can be a hectic place to work. Staffing and coverage can be an issue and the music is very loud and can be repetitive.

However, if you really like Halloween and or costumes it can be a really cool place to work. Helping people find the right outfits or things for their displays or parties was always really fun.

If you are a Halloween fanatic, you will like being among the first to see the newest trends in costumes, décor, and animatronics.
