Middle Township Celebrates Miss New Jersey's Victory

A Cape May Court House woman won the title of Miss New Jersey on Saturday at Resorts Casino Hotel.

Elizabeth Mendel, 22, will represent New Jersey for the title of Miss America in January 2025.

Miss South Jersey Crowned Miss New Jersey

Elizabeth Mendel, 2024's Miss South Jersey, competed in the 2023 Miss New Jersey as Miss Avalon.

Mendel won the evening gown preliminary round on her way to the 2024 Miss NJ title.

Elizabeth Mendel's family owns and operates the clothing and apparel store Sand Jamm 5Mile in North Wildwood.

Middle Township High School Has a Miss New Jersey Dynasty

Mendel, a 2020 Middle Township High School graduate, becomes the third Miss New Jersey from Middle Township High in the past four years.

Alyssa Sullivan of Cape May Court House won the title in 2021. Alyssa, now married and known as Alyssa Cristelli works for PHL17 in Philadelphia.

Having personally experienced the struggles of an eating disorder l understand the challenges of being knowledgeable about my illness yet unable to recover alone.
The shame, inadequacy, and loneliness I felt during that time motivated me to use my platform as a title holder in the Miss America Opportunity to spread awareness about eating disorders to hundreds of individuals, young and old.
