There are quiet cats, hyper cats, young kittens and older cats, fat cats and thin, standoffish cats and cats who get right up in your business. There is a cat for just about everybody's taste in the cat room.

The one thing most of them have in common is that they are available for adoption to a good home. A forever home, as they like to say at the Humane Society of Ocean City. Except for a few permanent residents, all of those cats are waiting to be adopted.

With that in mind, I asked the folks who run the cat room at the Humane Society of Ocean City to take photos of a few of the residents to see if we could find a few good owners for some of the cats in the cat room.

Please take a look and consider having one of these cats join your family.

If you would like to visit the cat room to see for yourself, call the Humane Society of Ocean City at 609-398-9500 to make an appointment.

You shouldn't have a hard time finding your one-of-a-kind cat at the Humane Society of Ocean City!  You might even find two!

LOOK: Here Are 30 Foods That Are Poisonous to Dogs

To prepare yourself for a potential incident, always keep your vet's phone number handy, along with an after-hours clinic you can call in an emergency. The ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center also has a hotline you can call at (888) 426-4435 for advice.

Even with all of these resources, however, the best cure for food poisoning is preventing it in the first place. To give you an idea of what human foods can be dangerous, Stacker has put together a slideshow of 30 common foods to avoid. Take a look to see if there are any that surprise you.
