It’s time to get up and get moving! This coming Saturday is National Dance Day.

Always observed on the last Saturday in July, it was created as a day to raise awareness and to encourage Americans to embrace dance as a fun and positive way to maintain good health and combat obesity. Dancing is a great way to relieve stress and get some physical activity. It is so much fun, you might not even realize you are exercising. Whether it’s pop, soul, country or rock, get out on the dance floor or just turn up the volume wherever you are this Saturday and shake your groove thing.

National Dance Day was launched in 2010 by Nigel Lythgoe co creator of the popular “So You Think You Can Dance” co-president of the Dizzy Feet Foundation. He urges everyone to participate in the dance made me do it challenge. Learn the very simple National Dance Day routine and share it at #Dance Made me do it.
