Testicular cancer is very difficult and distressing for many young men to talk and even think about. Even discussing this topic maybe out of your comfort zone.

But if you are the parent of an adolescent male it is important to explain the importance of doing self-examinations monthly. If they experience any pain, lumps, or swelling, encourage them to see a physician right away. Remember that testicular cancer is almost completely curable when caught in its early stages, so it is important to notify your doctor as soon as you might suspect something.   Learn the symptoms of testicular cancer and how to do a self-exam.

Remember not all pain, lumps, or swelling means testicular cancer. It can also mean varicoceles; which results in a 41% lower sperm count than guys that don't have bulging veins. Bumps could also be from cysts.  The bottom line, if you notice any chance, see your doctor as soon as possible.
