Atlantic Shore's 13U Babe Ruth baseball team will be traveling to the Babe Ruth World Series on Aug 12, with play set to begin on Aug 14 in Jamestown, NY. If the team reaches its goal of a World Series title, they will be staying in Jamestown for up to 10 days.

They went undefeated in the Mid-Atlantic Regional in Altoona, PA last week, going a perfect 5-0 in the tournament, defeating Mifflin County, PA, 8-0 on Tuesday afternoon to claim the Mid-Atlantic Championship.

The team went 3-0 during their South Jersey State tournament in Hamilton, NJ in July.

I am the manager of the team along with my coaches Frank Curtain, Steve and Don Myers. This will be the third time I have been a part of a team that has reached the Babe Ruth World Series and every time is a unique experience.

Curtain won a World Series as a player and Steven Myers played in two World Series as a player. Don has been a part of two of my staffs that have reached this level.

The players have worked extremely hard and have achieved a goal that is not easy to accomplish.

They are one of eight regional winners, along with two teams from the host state, competing for the 13U Babe Ruth World Series Title.

But getting there is not easy and takes a big commitment from the families.

The team will be having a fundraiser that is open to the public on Saturday, Aug 7 from 12-5pm at Vagabond Kitchen & Tap House, 672 Trenton Ave in Atlantic City.

There will be plenty of food, prizes, drinks and the team will be on hand.  There will be a live stream of the event, from BFA Sports that will have information for you to donate.

If you or your business would like to donate now to help the team with expenses, there is a venmo account set up @AShoreWorldSeries with all proceeds going towards hotel and travel for the players.
