It can be a challenge finding the perfect romantic way of celebrating Valentine's Day with your special someone, but I have a suggestion for something very unique and memorable this February 14th from 5 to 7 pm.

Be a part of the evening of "Romance & Renewal" happening at the Absecon Lighthouse in Atlantic City.

Valentine's Day Vow Renewal at Absecon Lighthouse

This Valentine's Day, you have the chance to be one of the couples taking part in the group vow renewal ceremony being performed by a non-denominational minister in the Keeper's Cottage at Absecon Lighthouse at 6 pm.

The ceremony will be followed by a champagne toast and dancing and live music by singer Lisa Camp and her keyboardist.

Lisa will be performing classic songs and standards.

The Keepers Cottage is a replica of the 1925 lighthouse keeper's house. It serves as the Absecon Lighthouse's museum with exhibits that include ocean life, shipwrecks, a history of the keepers and the lighthouse, local memorabilia, and restoration photos.

What's Included in Your Donation

There is a $40 minimum donation per couple benefiting Lighthouse upkeep, which includes the ceremony, a climb of the 228 steps to the top of Absecon Lighthouse (a great place for a memorable keepsake photo), music and dancing.

You are asked to give from the heart because the event is a fundraiser.

Make your reservation for the Valentine's Day Evening of Romance & Renewal while spaces are still available by calling the Lighthouse at 609-449-1360.

A Little History of the Lighthouse

The Absecon Lighthouse was built in 1854, with its light first lit in 1857.

At 171 feet tall, it is New Jersey’s tallest lighthouse and the third tallest in the country.

Since the reopening of the lighthouse tower in 1999, over 400,000 visitors have learned of its remarkable history.

When you climb to the top of Absecon Lighthouse, you'll see breathtaking views of the Atlantic City skyline and you'll come face-to-face with the original first-order Fresnel Lens.
