Whatever your opinions are on the COVID-19 vaccine, it looks like yet another company is pressing forward with testing their product on 12 to 17-year-olds.

Even though most kids don't experience the same symptoms or severity when diagnosed with COVID-19, many parents are still planning to get their children vaccinated with the already approved Pfizer vaccine. Soon though, they'll have another option offered to them. Moderna has announced that they have strong research to prove their vaccine protects that age group just as effectively as the adults. NJ.com reports that Moderna has tested the vaccine on almost four thousand minors ranging from twelve to seventeen.

Apparently, parents need not worry about the side effects. NJ.com says that Moderna claims children may experience a sore arm and extreme fatigue after getting the jab, but that should be it. It's important to keep in mind, as surely all good parents would, that side effects could vary from kid to kid just like it does from adult to adult.

The statistics were released in a press release from Moderna which claims that their vaccine aimed at 12-17-year-olds is at least 93% effective. According to NJ.com, none of the children included in the trial had been diagnosed with COVID-19 prior to the test. They're not stopping there, either. The vaccine is reportedly already set to be tested on children even younger, all the way down to six month olds. Obviously, they're going to have to figure out dosing since young children should not be given the same dosage as adults.
