Soon the summer season will be in full swing up and down the Jersey Shore. I'm so ready for some fun in the sun. The one thing I won't miss this summer is the smell of smoke of my favorite beach.

Governor Murphy signed a law which prohibits puffing on the state public beaches and parks. The full law went into effect at the start of 2019 and you could get fined up to $1,000 for repeatedly lighting up where you shouldn't, according to the Courier Post.

Local shore towns have the option of setting up a small designated area on the beach where you can smoke and it's up to the town to enforce the ban.

Here's how some South Jersey shore towns plan on handling the smoking ban for Summer 2019, according to the Press of Atlantic City:

Ventnor: Inching closer to supporting full no smoking ban.

Longport: No smoking ban in effect since Summer of 2017

Brigantine: The no smoking policy was discussed at a  recent town meeting.

Wildwood Crest: For now, the town will designate a small area for smoking. That may change by the time the beaches open for Summer 2019.

Wildwood: Still deciding how to implement the smoking ban according to the report. Smoking is still a no-go 10 feet from the world-famous Wildwood Boardwalk.

Ocean City: Smoking banned on all beaches since Summer 2018.

Sea Isle City: No smoking ban will be in effect this summer and will be reinforced by Sea Isle City police.

Avalon: No smoking ban in full effect for Summer 2019.

Stone Harbor: No smoking signs will now be visible on all beaches. Police will be on the lookout for smokers.
