A criminal complaint states that in late 2014, 47-year-old Jeffrey Reitz, of Williamstown, exchanged sexually explicit emails with the mother of a 5-year-old, with an interest of having sex with the child. He also asked for a photo of the child, according to Courier Post, to which the mother complied.

A statement by authorities said those emails allegedly took several years to surface due to "the result of evidence seized in a separate investigation by the Camden County Prosecutor's Office".

Trooper Reitz was arrested today on charges of possessing child pornography and faces several years in prison. The mother of the child in question reportedly already plead guilty to permitting a child to engage in pornography and was sentenced to seven years behind bars.
