5 Displaced, 1 Injured After Raging Pleasantville House Fire

A fire tore through a two-family home in Pleasantville on Saturday afternoon.

Pleasantville firefighters were called to the house fire at 122 W. Glendale Ave. at 1:13 pm on Saturday and found the fire was raging in the right front center of the home's exterior.

Firefighters Attacked the Fire

In a Facebook post, Pleasantville Fire Company said that crews immediately started fighting the fire.

Battalion 4 arrived to find heavy fire showing from a two-family home and went right to work, mounting an aggressive attack and holding the fire to the building of origin. The fire was brought under control by about 2:10 pm.

Photos attached to the Facebook post show exhausted firefighters resting outside the home after getting the fire under control.

5 People Were Displaced; 2 Pets Were Saved

According to fire officials, five adults were displaced by the fire and are being cared for by the American Red Cross. One of the residents was treated for minor injuries and was taken to the hospital by Tricare EMS.

Firefighters also rescued a dog and a cat from the home and reunited them with their family.

Other South Jersey Firefighters Assisted

The Pleasantville Fire Department said they received assistance with the fire from the

South Jersey Transportation Authority, Linwood, and Northfield Fire Departments.

The Absecon and Egg Harbor Township Fire Departments provided station coverage, Tricare EMS, and the Pleasantville Police Department with help on the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
