Millville Police Mourn the Sudden Death of K-9 Dog Chase

Sunday was a sad day for the Millville Police Department and for handler Officer Michael Calchi, as his k-9 partner for 8 years died after suffering cardiac problems while at a police department function, according to the police Facebook page.

Officer Calchi and K-9 Chase graduated from the Atlantic County John Sonny Burke K-9 Academy together in 2012 and were assigned to the patrol division of the Millville Police Department.

Millville Police say K-9 Chase and his handler Officer Calchi have been instrumental in the seizure of millions of dollars in drugs from the tri-state area and taking numerous criminals off the street.
