How Injured NJ State Police K9 Kona's Life Was Saved

NorthSTAR & SouthSTAR Medical Helicopter have given an update on the condition of NJ State Police Trooper K-9 Kona, who was severely injured earlier this month in the line of duty.

On Monday, September 11, State Police were involved in the search for a missing and endangered person in Winslow Township. During the search, Kona was badly injured and needed to be transported to Red Bank Animal Hospital for immediate care.

According to a post on Facebook, a Flight Team from SouthSTAR Medevac was called in to help. A safe landing zone had to be established in a field for the helicopter to land and pick up the injured the K-9 Trooper.

Kona and her K-9 partner NJ State Police Trooper Robert Pasquino were picked up by the medevac team and transported to a safe landing spot near the Red Bank Veterinary Hospital where an emergency team was waiting for them.

The medical team at Red Bank worked urgently on Kona and was able to save her life that day.

We are pleased to report that due to the quick actions of her Partner, Trooper I Pasquino and K9 Teammates, as well as the entire team of Red Bank Veterinary Hospital, K9 Trooper Kona is going to make a full recovery!
