Police in Galloway Township are turning to the public for help concerning the possible attempted abduction of a 17-year-old girl.

The Press of Atlantic City reports that the attempted abduction took place around 11:40 AM, Tuesday morning as the girl walked home from school on East Great Creek Road. Galloway Police were called after the girl ran to a nearby home to call her parents.

Police received a call from the parents to report the possible abduction. Galloway police located the girl on Jimmie Leeds Road and proceeded to take her home.

The vehicle in the possible abduction is being described as an older, tan minivan with tinted rear windows driven by a African American man in a white t-shirt. The suspect believed to be in his late twenties or early thirties also has scruffy facial hair.

Galloway Police are asking for help from the public. You are asked to urgently call 609-652-3705 if you have any pertinent information concerning the attempted abduction in Galloway earlier this morning.
