EHT Man Charged for a Rash of Downbeach Car Burglaries

Longport police say an Egg Harbor Township man was arrested and charged last month with committing numerous car burglaries in the Downbeach area.

According to the Press of Atlantic City, Longport police arrested 40-year-old Egg Harbor Township resident Brian V. Cochrane after getting a call concerning suspicion activity during the early morning hours of August 12th.

Police spotted Cochrane and a chase ensued. Cochrane was apprehended by Longport Police on Point Drive and was found with countless items in his possession. Charges against Cochrane include burglary, theft, theft from a motor vehicle and receiving stolen property.

Most of the crimes occurred in the Downbeach Area. Police are now asking you to call them 609-822-2141 or contact them at longportpd.org if you've been the possible victim of a burglary as some of the stolen property has yet to be claimed.
