Ava: An 8-Year Old Black & White Cat – Pet of the Week
Every Thursday morning at 7:10 am on the Lite Rock Morning Show, the Humane Society of Ocean City introduces the new Lite Rock Pet of the Week.
If you are thinking about adding a pet to your family, please consider adopting from the Humane Society of Ocean City, a no-kill shelter recognized as one of the nation’s top ten animal shelters.
This week we met Ava the cat...
Here's some information on Ava from the Humane Society of Ocean City...
"Ava is a tuxedo girl around 8 years old. She has been here at the shelter for almost 7 years after being found on the streets of Philadelphia.
We feel that at one point she lived in a home and was either treated poorly there or after she ended up on the streets. Ava takes a bit of time to trust people but can be a very sweet girl once she does. She enjoys sitting on laps.
Ava does great with other cats and would do fine with a dog that doesn’t show interest in her. Just because of her past and her lack of trust we recommend no small children for her.

Please contact one of our adoption counselors for more information. All cats are up to date with vaccines and have been spayed or neutered. The HSOC also provides each pet adopted by us with a 10% lifetime discount to our veterinary center."
