With New Owners, What’s Next for This Atlantic City High-Rise?
The former Club Wyndham Skyline Tower at 100 S. North Carolina Avenue in Atlantic City was sold at auction in late April to a Philadelphia investment group.
Philadelphia Business Journal reports that developer Ira Lubert and real estate professionals James and Robert Robertson co-invested in Skyline Acquisitions LLC to purchase the tower, making a winning $18.2 million bid.
Court documents filed last week show that Skyline Tower Resort Vacation Condominium Association, Inc., named Skyline Tower Acquisitions, the successful bidder for the property.
There will be a hearing in U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey on Thursday, August 13, to approve the sale.
Any objections to the sale must be filed with the court before July 15th at 5 pm, according to court records.
Club Wyndham in Atlantic City
Wyndham's Skyline Tower, a 32-story high-rise, was built in 1982 and renovated in 2011. It is one block from the Atlantic City Boardwalk and in easy walking distance of Steel Pier, Resorts, and Hard Rock casinos.
The tower is made up of one- and two-bedroom condo resort suites with full kitchens, private bedrooms, separate living and dining areas, and private balconies.
Amenities at the resort include a fitness center, game room, swimming pool, and sauna.
Club Wyndham is one brand of Wyndham Destinations, a vacation ownership company. It operates more than 100 resorts across North America and the Caribbean.
Wyndham warned in July 2025 about it plan to sell some of its properties as part of an effort to cut costs and rightsize its portfolio.
In the announcement, the company said they were deciding which properties it felt were worth holding on to.
"While the vast majority of Club Wyndham resorts meet the expectations and desires of owners, we understand there are some properties that require significant upgrades or are simply located in destinations that aren’t as desirable as they once were."
Property Owners Voted to Sell
Management at Club Wyndham Skyline Tower said that 99% of the property's owners voted to cease operations and put the property on the market, according to PBJ.
Owners in good standing with the resort after the sale had the choice of trading their ownership stake for the equivalent amount of Club Wyndham Access points or receiving their share of the sale proceeds for their interest in the property.
The New Owners
The Philadelphia Business Journal says that Ira Lubert is a co-developer of recent Philadelphia projects at the Battery in Fishtown and the Bellevue in Center City.
He was also involved as an investor in the opening of the Valley Forge Casino Resort before the property was sold to Boyd Gaming for $2805 million in 2018.
Lubert and his partners Tony Frick and Matthew Malinowski also recently purchased the Amherst Avenue, Margate property previously owned by David Nicolas Building and Property Maintenance.
The buyers have not commented on their winning bid or their plans for the Skyline Tower property.
