This August, the people in West Cape May are feeling sad about Christmas.

That's because Christmas 2020 will be the first time anyone can remember that West Cape May won't be holding their annual Community Christmas Parade.

The parade is one of the town's most cherished Christmas traditions and just about everyone has gone to see it or actually been in it many times.

The West Cape May Community Christmas Christmas is always the first Saturday in December and sets the stage for the Holidays, with floats, dancers, carolers, and marchers and Christmas lovers from towns all around South Jersey converging on WCM for a good old-fashioned celebration.

Stepping off from the West Cape May Fire Hall and heading down to Perry Street, then on to Carpenter Lane, the Community Christmas Parade is hometown South Jersey at its finest.

But, this year, because of know the drill.

It's just not safe to bring thousands of people together for a party of any type and since the parade takes months of planning to put together, the town had to act early. This week they canceled the parade.

How sad.

There's always 2021.
