Authorities in Cumberland County have identified a man wanted in connection to a fatal shooting in Vineland Tuesday night and charged him with murder.

According to the Cumberland County Prosecutor's Office, officers with the Vineland Police Department responded to the 400 block of Landis Avenue around 10:20 PM for a shots-fired report.

Arriving officers located 35-year-old Russell Workman, who was last known to have lived in Sewell, Gloucester County, dead from apparent gunshot wounds.

On Friday, police identified the shooter as 28-year-old Desmond L Scarbrough-Brown of N. Fourth Street in Vineland.

Charges

He has been charged with was charged with murder (purposely or knowingly), possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, and unlawful possession of a weapon.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing. Anyone with information about where Scarbrough-Brown may be located is asked to contact the Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office at (856) 207-2999.
