Two Great Cape May County Businesses Reopen for the Season
A rite of spring is beginning around South Jersey. Great seasonal businesses are cleaning up after their winter vacation and setting up shop for the 2024 season.
This makes me happy.
The seasonal business reopening around Cape May County brings me back to when I lived in West Wildwood years ago and worked at restaurants like Zaberers and Two Mile Landing.
Employees waited through the winter for this time of year and a chance to make some good money, after surviving all winter on unemployment.
In spring's early days, there was a feeling of excitement that summer was coming and so was the profitable tourist season. It's been a long time since I worked in the restaurant biz, but I still remember that feeling.
I happened to see that two great Cape May County seasonal businesses are reopening this weekend.
Mack's Pizza on the Wildwood Boardwalk
The iconic Mack's Pizza, a Wildwood staple since 1953, has reopened at its two locations, 3218 Boardwalk and 4200 Boardwalk. Remember back in the day when Mack's had 4 Boardwalk locations?
Joe Mack, the co-founder and co-owner, passed away a few years ago, but the pizza still absolutely rocks!
Stop by and have a slice or two over the weekend. Delicious!
Robinson's Deli & Produce, Villas
Villas locals have loved Robinson's Deli for years. The store's sign says they have the "World's Best Potato Salad" and they aren't lying!
But, Robinson's also makes excellent cucumber salad, creamed cabbage, egg salad, carrot raisin salad, and dozens more.
Do yourself a favor and try one of Robinson's hoagies, a panini, or anything on the menu at Robinson's Deli and Produce, 2408 Bayshore Road in Villas.
Welcome back to Robinson's and Mack's Pizza. Have a great year in 20024!
