
Woman Airlifted After Serious Route 9 Crash in Stafford Twp.
A woman driving on Route 9 in Stafford Township on Sunday night was seriously injured when she left the road and hit a utility police, according to the Stafford Township Police Department.
Police say they responded to a call of an accident near Route 9 and Manor Lane at about 10:21 pm Sunday and found a vehicle that had struck a utility pole.
The preliminary investigation showed that the vehicle was traveling north on Route 9 when the driver lost control of the vehicle for some reason and collided with the pole.
A Waretown Woman Was Injured in the Crash
The police found Laura Krohn, 41, of Waretown in the vehicle, unconscious and unresponsive.
Officers were able to remove Krohn from the vehicle and gave her emergency assistance until the EMS and paramedics arrived.
Because of the potential seriousness of her injuries, it was decided that she would be airlifted to Jersey Shore Trauma Center in Neptune for treatment.
A Damaged Utility Pole
The impact of the crash caused damage to the utility pole, and Atlantic City Electric responded to assess and repair the damage.
The crash caused power outages in several neighborhoods in town.
Route 9 was closed for about two hours on Sunday night to investigate the crash and clear the scene.
