It is no fun to be in the hospital during the holidays. That's especially true this year, as Covid-19 concerns have forced many hospitals to implement a no visitor policy.

Shore Medical Center, which stopped its visitor policy for that reason in mid-october is asking for help from the community cheering up their patients with holiday cards and artwork, especially from children.

With visitor restrictions in place, we are looking to YOU to help our patients feel the love from their community. People of all ages, especially children, are invited to send in cards, cheerful artwork and messages of comfort to let patients know someone is thinking about them. Your kindness can make all the difference, especially this holiday season!

What a great idea! Not only will a drawing from a child make a perfect wallhanging in a hospital patient's room, but this is definitely one of those "teachable moments" for your kids.

Shore Medical Center asks that you mail your cards to "Patient Experience, Shore Medical Center, 100 Medical Center Way, Somers Point, NJ 08244" or drop them off at their front desk.

By the way, for safety's sake, all cards and artwork will be quarantined before distribution to patients, so send them early!
