Make way for the big guy in the red suit with the white beard. Santa Claus is still coming to Middle Township to help spread some much needed holiday cheer during this very different Christmas season.

Jolly old Saint Nick and Mrs. Claus will make their way through Middle Township on a fire and EMS trucks procession stating at 11 AM on Saturday, December 12th. Santa will also be on hand for the annual tree lighting ceremony taking place that night. You and the kids can watch the tree lighting ceremony which will be livestreamed on the Middle Township Recreation and Tourism Facebook page.

The Township is looking to spread even more holiday cheer when it announces the winners of its annual Christmas Decorating Contest which started in mid-November. Entries are still being accepted though December 14th.

To keep things safe, the judges will evaluate outdoor Christmas decorations from the street, A winner will be announced on December 18th and will be awarded a special plaque and trophy. .

This year, the glittering and twinkling of Christmas lights have started even earlier than usual and have even more of a special meaning thanks to the coronavirus pandemic.

There's still time to show us your holiday displays as we Light up South Jersey for 2020.  Between now and Dec. 13, we want to see photos of your holiday light displays.

And since it is the season of giving, we'll hand over a neatly wrapped gift of $500 cash, thanks to our friends at South Jersey Gas, to one lucky person who shares their holiday light display.
