Authorities in Cumberland County say it was a violent start to the weekend -- two men were shot in Bridgeton late Friday night; one was killed and the other was critically wounded.

Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae says officers with the Bridgeton Police Department responded to 138 Vine Street around 10:30 Friday night for the report of shots fired.

There, cops say 21-year-old Tyrese J. McNair, of that address, was shot multiple times in the chest. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Bridgeton officers then located a 21-year-old man at Hampton and Giles Streets who had been shot in the abdomen and arm, according to a press release. That victim was taken to Cooper Hospital in Camden and was last known to be in critical condition.

Information about any possible suspect(s) in the shooting was not included in a press release Sunday.

Anyone with information on these shootings is asked to contact the Cumberland County Prosecutor's Office at (856) 453-0486.
