October 10th is World Mental Health Day
The pandemic has shined a light on the need for mental health services in our country. With so many affected, people are finally realizing that mental health is just as important as our physical health. COVID has been challenging for everyone, but especially frontline workers, students, those who lost jobs or live alone, and people who have pre-existing mental health conditions.
October 10 is World Mental Health Day. Observed since 1992, by the World Health Organization, this year’s campaign slogan is Mental Health Care for all: let’s make it a reality. Countries around the world have been pushing to make mental health services accessible to everyone. In May 2021, international governments gathered at the World Health Assembly to endorse WHO’s Comprehensive Mental Health Action Plan.
