
North Wildwood, New Jersey Firefighters Rush To Save Fisherman
A firefighter's job goes so far beyond a typical 9 to 5 workday. A fifty-year-old man had plenty to be thankful for after being rescued by the North Wildwood Fire Department earlier this week.
According to 6 ABC.com, the rescue unfolded after a fisherman slipped and fell off a seawall and become wedged between rocks. North Wildwood Fire Chief Dominick McClain tells 6ABC,
"The green slime and barnacles are very, very slippery," .
"He slipped off of there and rolled down and struck his head. So, he had some contusions on his head."
Firefighters had to use climbing gear and ropes to rescue the victim also suffered broken ribs. The victim had to be hospitalized due to his injuries but is expected to make a full recovery.

Firefighters were prepared for this type of rescue. There are signs posted on the seawall to remind visitors that bikes and alcohol are prohibited.
