NJ’s Loveliest Small-Town Restaurant is Here in Cape May

When we want to try a new restaurant, there are a few things we expect.  Tasty food is right at the top of the list, as well as a good variety of menu options.  What fun is trying a new restaurant, if we're always ordering the same meal?

After food, the atmosphere and service are very important.  Personally, I prefer the more laid-back atmosphere.  Some restaurants take themselves too seriously and are too stuffy for my taste.  Service should be attentive and friendly.  For these reasons, we tend to gravitate towards family-owned restaurants.

The foodie's website, lovefood.com has just released their list of what they call the "Loveliest Small-Town Restaurants" in the country.  We've got many restaurants in our state that could make that list, but the online site managed to whittle it down to a single restaurant in our state.

Their choice of The Lobster House in Cape May as "New Jersey's Loveliest Small-Town Restaurant" is the perfect choice.

Located on Fisherman's Wharf overlooking the harbor, this restaurant checks all the boxes.  The food is as fresh as you'll find at the Jersey Shore.  The food is literally offloaded from fishing vessels daily.

They offer dockside dining, where you can take in the view of the harbor or dine in one of their 5 dining rooms.  They offer a raw bar with its own menu that features great choices.  Servers here are friendly and knowledgeable.

This family-owned restaurant has been around for generations.  It has that family feel to it.  It also feels a bit aged, but don't let that keep you from trying them out.  For those who don't want to dine-in, they offer take-out as well.

They're open daily for lunch from 11:30-3 and dinner is served 4:30-9 (open until 10 on Friday and Saturday).
