A Cape May Court House man has been arrested and charged with sexual assault.

Authorities say 53-year-old Brian Leach of the 100 block of East Woodland Avenue was taken into custody earlier this week.

Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey Sutherland says on March 4th, members of his office, the New Jersey State Police, the Cape May County Sheriff's Office, and the Cape May County Regional SWAT Team executed multiple search warrants at sober living residences operated under Leach's Sobriety House, LLC, as well as at his home.

As a result of the investigation and the execution of those search warrants, Leach was taken into custody and charged with one count of second-degree sexual assault.

He was processed and lodged in the Cape May County Correctional Facility pending a court hearing.

Under New Jersey law, a person convicted of a second-degree crime faces five to ten years behind bars.

Authorities are asking anyone with information related to this case to contact the Cape May County Prosecutor's Office's Special Victims Unit at (609) 465-1135.

The public is reminded that charges are accusations and all persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
