The County of Atlantic, New Jersey has announced that travel over the Ventnor, New Jersey Dorset Avenue Bridge will be impacted for the next several weeks.

This is required because of emergency mechanical repairs that must be made.

The repair work will begin on Monday, January 22, 2024 and will take place on weekdays between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. During these days and hours, the bridge will be operating on a lane shift basis.

If you are intending to drive over this bridge, you should expect delays and allow additional travel time, or, make alternative travel arrangements.

The mechanical repairs will only take place on days when the weather permits the work to be done.

This is not limited to only motorists.

The bridge sidewalks will also be impacted.

The sidewalks will be closed (one side at a time) in the work zone when work is being performed.

The sidewalk closures will also be in effect from  8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., on weekdays.

The County of Atlantic will post signage to direct pedestrians to the open sidewalk.

Pedestrians should observe these posted require and cross Dorset Avenue using the designated crosswalks at the signalized intersections at Ventnor Avenue and at Monmouth Avenues.
