Haddon Heights Man Pleads Guilty to Sexually Abusing Toddler
Camden, N.J. — A Haddon Heights man has pleaded guilty to sexually abusing a 3-year-old female relative, recording the abuse, and sharing the material online.
When he is sentenced on October 30th, 44-year-old Jason R. Anderson is expected to spend the next 35 years in prison.
Investigation
On February 10th, 2025, the Camden County Prosecutor's Office said its Special Victims Unit and the Haddon Heights Police Department were notified after someone discovered photos and videos on Anderson's cell phone depicting him sexually abusing the child.
Investigators determined he had been sharing the material through an app under the screen name "Horny Ped."
Anderson was arrested that day and remanded to the Camden County Correctional Facility.
Guilty Plea and Sentence
Anderson pleaded guilty to first-degree aggravated sexual assault, first-degree endangering the welfare of a child by manufacturing child sexual abuse material, and third-degree failure to register as a Megan's Law offender.
Under the plea agreement, he will be required to serve 25 years without the possibility of parole on the aggravated sexual assault conviction under the Jessica Lunsford Act, followed by an additional 10 years subject to the No Early Release Act, requiring him to serve 85% of that sentence before becoming eligible for parole.
Once released, he will be subject to parole supervision for life and required to register under Megan's Law.
Prosecutor Speaks
Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay said in a statement, "Although no sentence can undo the devastating harm caused to this child, this plea agreement holds the defendant accountable while protecting the victim and her family from the ordeal of a public trial. Our hope is that they can now begin to heal and look ahead to a brighter future."
The case was prosecuted by Section Chief Rachael Minardi of the Camden County Prosecutor's Office Special Victims Unit and investigated by Det. Todd Jarrell and Haddon Heights Police Lt. Michael Smollock.
