19-Year-Old Camden Man Killed by Vehicle Driven by Off-Duty Cop

Camden, N.J. — A 19-year-old Camden man is dead after being struck by a vehicle driven by an off-duty police officer early Tuesday morning.

Angel Saravia-Estrada was taken to Cooper University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at approximately 1:17 AM.

According to the Camden County Prosecutor's Office, Camden County Police responded to westbound Admiral Wilson Boulevard near 16th Street around 12:51 AM for a report of a pedestrian who had entered the roadway and was struck by a vehicle.

The driver, an off-duty officer with the Camden County Police Department who was not identified by authorities, remained at the scene.

An on-duty Delaware River Port Authority Police officer also stopped at the scene and attempted to render aid.

The crash is being investigated by the Camden County Prosecutor's Office Crash Response Investigation Team. The investigation remains active and ongoing.
