Mosaic, the former Seashore Gardens Living Center, has finalized its long-planned sale to Atlas Healthcare Group of Lakewood.

A Sale a Long Time in the Making

The sale culminates a two-year process to save the local senior living center on Jimmy Leeds Road in Galloway, which experienced a steep decline in revenue and residents during the COVID-19 years.

It also continues Seashore Gardens' mission to uphold its Jewish tradition. Atlas Healthcare is also Jewish-based with a strong connection to the Jewish community.

Seashore Gardens changed its name to Mosaic recently, an acronym for Meaningful Outreach and Support for Aging Individuals and Caregivers.

Seashore Gardens' board of directors initially agreed in 2023 to sell to Atlas, after staffing shortages limited the number of residents they could accommodate.

Two years later, the deal is finally complete, and Seashore Gardens becomes one of the 11 New Jersey facilities in the Atlas family.

Memories of Seashore Gardens

Seashore Gardens has quite a history in South Jersey since opening in 1916 as the Hebrew Sheltering Home of Atlantic City.

In the 1970's the facility was renamed Seashore Gardens Living Center and became a skilled nursing center, according to the website timeline.

In 2002, Seashore Gardens opened its 20-acre campus in Galloway and expanded to include assisted living and an Alzheimer's care wing.

I have fond memories of helping with the great cause during the annual Seashore Gardens Foundation's 5K Run and Walk on the Atlantic City Boardwalk with Lite 96.9's Robin Stoloff.

I hope Seashore Gardens continues those ties to the community with its new owners.
