It's an idea whose time has come.  In fact, if ever there was an idea perfect for the people of New Jersey, this is it.

They're called rage rooms, and you have to see it to believe it.

Rage rooms go by several different names including smash rooms, anger rooms, fury rooms, frustration rooms, destruction rooms, and more.

The concept is simple, you pay to enter a room filled with random stuff that you then smash to pieces.  Imagine having a bad day at the office, and you're looking for a way to blow off steam, you can visit a place like this and smash the daylights out of a host of everyday items.

Participants usually go as a group with friends.  Each member of your party is given protectivewear, and then a choice of weapons.  We're talking baseball bats, axes, or hammers and then you enter the room and smash away.

There are many variations of this concept and the items in these rooms vary from bottles to laptops and televisions.  Some even have cars.

Many of these establishments have a rule that you must be 18 or older, and they don't offer alcohol for obvious reasons.

Currently, there are only a few of these places in New Jersey.  In Toms River, at a place called Smashin City Rage Room, they offer a package called Mood Swings.  You go solo and spend 20 minutes smashing stuff like glass or dishware items, a small electronic piece, and a medium item for $42.99.

Bring a small group of friends and you can purchase their Fit of Fury.  This is where 3-4 friends enter a room and smash 30 glass or dishware items, 1 large and 1 medium item, and an electronic item all for $102.99.
