Say Thank You To Essential Workers & ShopRite Will Donate!

Now this is a genius idea for a fundraiser.

Wakefern Food Corp. which acts as the umbrella company to ShopRite, Dearborn Market, Price Rite Marketplace and The Fresh Grocer have all just started a new campaign called Essential Thanks and here is how it works.

The grocery store food chain is asking everyone to post thank you messages to all of our essential workers at EssentialThanks.com. This includes messages for healthcare workers, first responders, warehouse workers, truck drivers, supermarket associates and more.

You can also post your Thank You messages to Instagram or Twitter and use the hashtag #EssentialThanks.

For each message that is posted through June 30th, ShopRite will donate $1 to regional banks to help with coronavirus relief efforts.

The maximum donation being set is $500,000.

"The COVID-19 pandemic has put the spotlight on what it takes to keep our communities safe and healthy every day and in times of crisis,” said Joe Colalillo, chairman and chief executive officer of Wakefern Food Corp., said in a statement.
“We ask you to join us in thanking our store teams, warehouse workers, truck drivers, healthcare and all front line workers for the incredible job they are doing each day by going to work to support and serve their communities.”
