EHT Motorcyclist Dies in Weekend Accident
A motorcyclist was struck and killed Saturday evening in an accident on West Jersey Avenue in Hamilton Township.
According to the Press of Atlantic City, Hamilton Township Police have identified the motorcyclist as Scott Smith, 44, of Egg Harbor Township.
"Smith was riding westbound on his Suzuki motorcycle west on that road when an eastbound driver, Dominic Zambello, 86, of Mays Landing, “made a left turn in front of the motorcycle” in a Nissan Altima at Victoria Drive, police said.
Smith was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Campus, but was later pronounced dead. Zambello was taken to AtlantiCare’s satellite emergency department in Hammonton for treatment of minor injuries."
Police are still investigating the accident and no charges have been filed.
