It could be a sign that the truck burglar targeting vehicles outside the LongHorn Steakhouse in Mays Landing might want to look for a new line of work, after he got stuck inside the truck he was attempting to burglarize on Thursday night.

The man was still in the vehicle when police responded to a call from the owner about an attempted burglary.

Police Find Suspect Locked in Vehicle

Hamilton Township Police responded to a call from a man leaving the LongHorn Steakhouse on the Black Horse Pike who said his vehicle was being burglarized.

When the police arrived, the man explained that his truck's doors had a mechanical issue that made it difficult to open the pickup's doors from the inside.

NBC 10's Ted Greenberg reports that the truck's owner told Officer Greg Van Gilder of the Township of Hamilton Police Department that when he left LongHorn after dinner, he found the would-be burglar sitting in his driver's seat, unable to open the doors.

“He literally locked himself into the case."

The suspect, who has been identified as 19-year-old Jeison Henriquez Sanchez, of Pleasantville.

Truck Burglar Had Excuse for Being Inside Vehicle

The suspect tried telling the police that he thought the truck was his parents' vehicle, but that excuse didn't hold up when they checked it out.

Henriquez Sanchez was charged with burglary and brought to the Atlantic County jail.
