A wandering pig on the loose for about a week in Galloway Township is confounding police and animal control's attempts to corral it.

Piggy Keeps Outrunning Police

Galloway Township Police say no one has come forward to claim her or to say they are missing a pig. They don't even know her name.

Let's call her Miss Piglet for identification purposes.

The word is that the police can't catch up to Miss Piglet. Galloway Twp. Police Lt. Scott Winneberger told the Press of Atlantic City they have tried and failed.

"We've been made aware of it, but it hasn't been able to be captured. Every time we get close to it, it just runs off into the woods."

Pig on the Run Sightings

- Wednesday, May 15, 11:43 am: Piglet was seen entering the woods near AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's Galloway campus on West Jimmy Leeds Road.

- Miss Piglet was spotted on the corner of Liebig and Cologne aves directly across from Trinity Alliance Church, next to the black brick building around 3:50 pm Sunday, May 19

- The cover photo shows Miss Piglet making tracks down Clarks Landing Road near Mannheim Avenue on Monday, May 20.

If You See Miss Piglet

Even though Piglet seems quick enough to take care of herself, she would be in trouble if she came face to face with a fox or some other predatory animal in the wild.

If you see Miss Piglet, call the Galloway Township Police's non-emergency number -- 609-652-3705 -- and report it.
