Good news for drivers in the Atlantic County, New Jersey area: The Cardiff office of the Motor Vehicle Commission has reopened to field all transactions.

The announcement came this week after a request made by New Jersey legislators to reopen the location was honored. I'm coming up on having to renew my driver's license again, so this news will make my life so much more convenient.

In a press release shared by downbeach.com, New Jersey Senator Vince Polistina said, “Since COVID, Atlantic County residents have been forced to travel significant distances due to the closure of the Cardiff agency for vehicle transactions. I’m happy to see the response by the MVC and their willingness to listen to the residents of Atlantic County.”

Atlantic County Assemblywoman Claire Swift made it clear she sympathizes with the hassle of residents having to travel to other offices to conduct MVC business, stating, “Now, having their home county’s MVC location open for full service again, many won’t have to choose between earning a day’s pay and completing a vehicle transaction”.

When you log onto the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commision website, the Cardiff office is no longer in red type, signaling its reopening. The Cardiff MVC is currently taking appointments.
