Could Atlantic City’s Beachfest Concert Series Be Discontinued?

The Atlantic City's Beachfest Concert Series may no longer be a thing.

Atlantic City paid $6 million to Live Nation Entertainment to put on concerts by big-name artist on the beach but that deal expired last week and state officials are not quite sure that they want to resign because of Atlantic City's newest addition, the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.

"Hard Rock is an incredible addition to Atlantic City," said Matt Doherty, executive director of the state Casino Reinvestment Development Authority. "It has, and seemingly will continue to draw top-name performers. Obviously, that benefits Hard Rock. But it also benefits the entire town. We'd rather do things on a more complementary basis."

So long story short, officials are trying to decide if having the two close to one another will act as competition or compliment each other.

And with the Hard Rock recently experiencing technical issues, there may be a rather big decision to make.
