For the second year, the Chelsea section of Atlantic City will be hosting an outdoor market for food - and even beer and liquor!

The C.R.O.P.S. Market @ Chelsea is now accepting vendor applications for the open-air market set to be up and running Saturday, August 20. The market will be open Saturdays from 1- 4 pm through October 29.

According to organizers, "food and merchandise vendors, live entertainment, and activities will be offered to the community at O’Donnell Park on Albany Avenue."

Vendor applications are now being accepted - and, if you apply by June 1, there is no application fee. "One of the top priorities of the market is to nurture and grow local small businesses, with Chelsea and Atlantic City-based businesses receiving priority." More information about this and other markets for vendors can be found here.

One of the unique aspects of this type of market is that alcoholic beverages can now be served at the market. Here's more from market organizers:

"Recently adopted State laws regarding liquor sales, as well as “cottage food” and “home baker” laws allow certain items cooked in the home to be sold to the public, as well as beer and liquor that is produced in the city. Also, State and City laws allow alcoholic beverages to be served at the Market by an establishment with a liquor license. Organizers are soliciting vendors to provide these items to create a festival-type atmosphere at the events."
