6ABC’s Cecily Tynan Shares News of the Passing of Her Mom
6ABC's Cecily Tynan had some personal news to share Thursday on Facebook. The longtime Action News Meteorologist announced that her mother, Joan Tynan, passed away on New Years' Day at age 92.
Not easy saying goodbye to my mom, who passed away peacefully late New Year’s Day, just a few months shy of her 93rd birthday.
"Heaven Gained an Angel"
In a moving Facebook tribute full of great photos of her mom, Tynan talks about the dedication her mother had for her children and attending their sporting events, her mom's love of conversation and the care she received in her final days.
“Nana” was a constant presence Luke and Emma’s lives: attending countless soccer games (notepad in hand, keeping track of the game stats), celebrating milestones and special events and always ready for a heartfelt conversation (Mom definitely had the gift of gab!) To the very end, Mom was making jokes and new friends. Anyone who met Joan Tynan loved her.
Thank you to the nurses at Compassus and everyone at Glen Mills Senior Living for taking such great care of Mom in her final weeks. It was so comforting to have help and know my mom was always in peace.
