
Vineland Man Gets 50 Years for Sexual Assault on 2-Year-Old
A Vineland man was sentenced to 50 years in prison, subject to the No Early Release Act, meaning he will have to serve over 42 years with no hope of parole for the crime of sexually assaulting a 2-year-old girl.
Jorge Deleon Diaz, 54, was convicted on four counts of sexual assault for the heinous crime in 2023, the Cumberland County Prosecutor said on Monday.
Sexual Assault Details Are Disturbing
The facts of this crime are so awful, I feel the need to warn anyone reading in advance.
The Prosecutor's office presented evidence during the trial that on July 25, 2023, Diaz "sexually assaulted a two-year-old female via oral penetration. The state presented eyewitness testimony as well as DNA evidence, and admissions by the defendant."
No other information about the incident has been disclosed.
Jury Returned Four Guilty Counts
The jury returned four guilty counts in the case.
- First-degree aggravated sexual assault
- Second-degree sexual assault
- Third-degree endangering the welfare of a child
- Fourth-degree lewdness
Upon release, Jorge Deleon Diaz will be required to register as a sex offender under Megan’s Law and will be subject to parole supervision for life.
