A young woman died in an early morning house fire in Vineland on Thursday.

Fire officials say the woman, 25, was trapped in a bedroom in the home on the 2200 block of Maple Avenue in Vineland around 6 a.m.

When arriving, firefighters encountered heavy smoke and fire on the first and second floors of the home. By the time fire crews were able to enter the home using a ladder, they found the woman dead on the second floor.

The woman's cause of death was not immediately known.

The firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze. No one else was home and there were no other injuries.

A pet was found in the house and revived, according to fire officials.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
