Woman’s Body Found at Car Wash; Prosecutor Charges Ex-boyfriend in Palmyra, NJ, Murder
Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina says a former boyfriend has been charged with killing a 28-year-old woman who was found fatally shot last week in the parking lot of a car wash in Palmyra.
32-year-old Antonio Burke of Palmyra, who was arrested following a traffic stop in Dallas, TX, Monday morning, has been charged with first-degree murder, second-degree possession of a handgun for an unlawful purpose, second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, and third-degree endangering an injured victim.
Authorities say an investigation began after officers were called to the Hot Wet & Wax car wash in Palmyra on the night of April 18th for a report of an unconscious woman who was bleeding. There, cops found the body of Alicia Stilley of Cinnaminson on the ground near her vehicle.
An autopsy determined Stilley died from a gunshot wound to the thorax.
Coffina's office says a motive for the shooting continues to be investigated.
Burke is scheduled to make an initial court appearance in Texas Tuesday morning.
The public is reminded that charges are accusations and all persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
