Wildwood Police Announce Charges

"The defendants were charged after a finding of probable cause and are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law."

The charges result from a preliminary operation conducted in June of this year.

Police say that during the June investigation, business owners on the Wildwood boardwalk were required to produce a valid license to distribute tobacco products.

A business at 3210 Boardwalk was briefly closed when they couldn't produce the proper documents.

The officers seized tobacco and vape products that were on the premises of the business.

June Investigation Leads to Charges Against Business Owners

According to the Wildwood Police, "Several Investigators of the NJ Office of Attorney General Division of Consumer Affairs served multiple boardwalk business owners with Notices of Violation for distributing flavored vapor products, as a result of a preliminary operation conducted during June 2024."

All eight business owners were given a summons.

"Wildwood Police went on to recognize the efforts of the Division of Consumer Affairs and the Department of Treasury and Taxation in bringing this investigation to a successful conclusion."
