Wildwood Man Swims to Shore After Accidentally Driving into Ocean

A Wildwood man reportedly had to swim ashore after accidentally driving his truck into the ocean night.

The incident happened around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday night when the man, a Morey's Piers employee, became stranded when his pickup truck became submerged in the water, according to People.com. He was able to escape the vehicle and pull himself to safety.

Wildwood Fire Department explained that visibility along the coast Wednesday night was 'extremely limited due to heavy fog condition'.

The unidentified driver was reportedly treated for hypothermia at Cape Regional Medical Center. How he ended up so far into the Atlantic Ocean by accident remains unclear.
