What’s Next For Cara Mund Miss America 2018?

Miss America Pageant week is on! The arrival ceremony was held last week on the world famous Atlantic City Boardwalk. What a way to spend a steamy, sunny, summer afternoon.

The 2019 Miss America contestants made their dazzling Atlantic City debut at Kennedy Plaza. All 51 contestants were introduced to the crowd during the Parade of States.

Of course, as usual, Miss New Jersey, 22-year-old Gloucester County resident Jamie Gialloreto, got the biggest hand of the afternoon. Gialloreto's platform for the pageant is Don't Get Nutty-Food Allergy Awareness.

There are changes to this year's event now being called Miss America 2.0. There will be no swimsuit or evening gown competition. Contestants will be able to chose their own outfits to highlight and showcase their own individual style.

The Miss America preliminaries run from Wednesday, September 5th through Friday, September 7th and one of the most beloved Atlantic City traditions, the iconic Show Us Your Shows Parade, will step off New Jersey Avenue and onto the boardwalk on Saturday, 8/8.

I had the chance to chat with Cara Mund after being surrounded by camera crews form ABC 6, Fox 29, and Inside Edition. Mund has generously donated so much  time and energy during her run as Miss America for the Children's Miracle Network, which she is the National Goodwill ambassador, and the Make-A -Wish Foundation.
